"After years of encouragement to become a church planter, I reached out to my friend, a pastor in Huntsville, in August 2016, to explore ministry opportunities. He the exciting vision of his presbytery to plant a church inboro, where there hadn’t been a church like ours all of Jackson County! Initially hesitant, I felt the Lord stirring heart with a passion for this community during those early morning hours. After expressing my interest interviewing with the Mission to North America Committee, we visited Scottsboro in January2017, and it was clear—this was God’s calling! In March 7, we joyfully accepted the call to plant Redeemer, and by April, we received a glowing recommendation from the Church Planter Center. With the support of Providence Presbytery in May, we kicked off our fundraising in, and we’ve fallen in love with Scottsboro and its wonderful people. can’t wait to see how God unfolds His plan to establish a PCA church right here!" - Dieter Paulson
