Dieter Paulson

Church Planter / Pastor

Dieter was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania moving to Charlotte, North Carolina at age 8.  After attending Charlotte Christian School from 2nd grade through 9th grade, Dieter was nearly paralyzed in a football injury.  God used this in his life to humble him and draw him to salvation in Jesus Christ.  Immediately after his conversion, he told his parents he wanted to attend public school to share Jesus with others.  Upon graduating from high school in 1993, Dieter attended East Carolina University to pursue a physical therapy degree but during his sophomore year, the Lord clearly called Dieter to pastoral ministry.  By God’s leading, he switched his major to Philosophy and minor to Religious Studies.  Upon graduation in 1997, Dieter attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Master’s degree in Divinity.  Dieter has served six years in youth ministry in Mississippi and Alabama, seven years in hospice chaplaincy in Mobile and Baldwin Counties, and nearly eight years as a solo pastor in Alabama and South Carolina.  He has been married to his wonderful wife, Marty, a native of Foley, Alabama, for 19 years.  They have four children, three girls and a boy.  They have an awesome Havanese dog named Teddy who looks like a living teddy bear.  In his downtime, Dieter enjoys fishing, watching football and movies, working out, reading fiction and Christian books, and sharing good food with others.
